What you'll do
As a Senior Engineer at Sainsbury's Tech, you will play a crucial role in building and running the technology that powers the UK's leading multi-channel, multi-brand retailer. In your role, you will build strong relationships with your team members and peers within your tower, providing technical mentorship and guidance to engineering both inside and outside of your practise and team. You will be the technical point of contact and expert for risks and issues that impact your team and / or tower, ensuring that their impact is measured and prioritised. You will drive the adoption of technical standards and best practises within your team, serving as a role model in areas such as CI / CD, testing, monitoring, and software development. Additionally, you will utilise your expertise in programming languages and deep experience in software design and implementation to develop high-quality solutions, embedding secure and tested CI / CD practises. Your specialisation in either software, data, infrastructure, or network will further contribute to the design and development of large-scale services, real-time streaming and batch data pipelines, infrastructure, or connectivity solutions, respectively. You will demonstrate a developing understanding of the retail business and the ability to maximise the value that solutions can add to the Sainsbury's Group strategy. In this role, you will contribute to the technical excellence of the team, ensure technical maturity, and drive effective and efficient delivery.
