Role Purpose:

This is a great time to join Travelex, as we look to grow our global reach by delivering frictionless travel money services. This role will be part of a highly functioning and results-driven Product Team, responsible for delivering strategic, customer-centric solutions.

The Product Designer is responsible for enhancing usability, while aligning with defined business goals, across Travelex digital touch-points. This will be achieved through comprehensive discovery, definition and design processes. You will be creating production-ready designs for web, mobile app, and other Travelex interfaces. Working closely with front-end developers, you will ensure that designs implemented in the live environment, mirror the work you handed-off. You will utilise and evolve the Travelex design system, ensuring UI components and patterns are consistent and meet best practices. Collaborating with other members of the team, you will conduct UX research, analyse outputs, and translate the findings into your design recommendations.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

Producing production ready design assets for web, mobile app and other digital devices across the Travelex product suite

Create intuitive user interfaces and experiences for customers, staff and other users of Travelex digital products

Plan, design, organise, conduct and report on user research activities

Produce concept sketches, wireframes, prototypes, interaction specs and other artefacts to support an effective user centred product development process

Develop and maintain the Travelex design system

Work to eradicate design debt and achieve consistency in all the Travelex digital interfaces and sites

Create components, patterns and solutions that consider different contextual use cases, to ensure Travelex digital products are accessible, intuitive and painless

Demonstrate the application of UX research findings, design principles and usability heuristics

Work with Product and front-end engineering to ensure the best possible outcome from a visual and interaction design perspective

Present and justify design decisions to the Product team and other senior stakeholders

Skills, knowledge, and experience:

Must have:

Process driven, with a meticulous approach to digital asset creation, file management and project documentation

Experience applying brand styles to digital products and services

An understanding of usability, interaction design and research theories and principles.

Experience of developing sketches, wireframes and other design artefacts for digital design projects

Strong UI skills, with an understanding of designing for different media types

Practical knowledge of UX role in agile Scrum methodology ways of working

Interprets and applies data, UX research, and insights to inform design decisions

Pragmatic and can balance needs of user and the business

A question driven, user focused approach to problem solving

The ability to confidently present, actively listen and question, during Product meeting scenarios

A passion to evolve knowledge and skills in the field of UX and UI design

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in UXD or a relative qualification and/or experience

Experience working within a global company, or corporate environment with remote teams

Technical / professional qualifications and experience:

Experience designing web & native solutions, backed by a portfolio of example projects

Experience building and managing design systems in Figma, with a particular focus on the use of variables and modes

Working knowledge of MV testing and personalisation platforms

Excellent knowledge of working tools i.e., Microsoft Office 365, Miro, Trello, Jira, and Confluence

Keen interest in emerging technologies and product development
