We have a phenomenal opportunity for a Lead Procurement Manager to join a successful team here at Tesco!
You will be responsible for managing a team of 3, running the procurement strategy of labour services, with many subcategories including security, stocktaking, cleaning, catering and agency support services.
This role will require strong procurement expertise, with a background in leading GSNFR categories preferable. You will be working with senior customers within the business to create, build, and develop category plans in line with Tesco’s key objectives.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco.
Ensuring strong relationships with suppliers & customers to support, endorse and deliver plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realise business savings and support innovation.
Developing and delivering procurement strategies, which truly support the Tesco business objectives.
Writing and delivering the procurement category plan for Labour Services.
Implementation of robust contracts across the category.
Consistently supervise and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
Lead supplier reviews, acting as a customer concern point for contract-related issues.
Assess the opportunity to improve scale and work with Tesco International teams and subsidiary business.
Working closely with our Ethical Team, to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and investigate and lead on Modern Day Slavery audits.
Review existing and potential new suppliers and assess their sustainability to supply Tesco, minimising risk, and optimising service.
Using good judgement, building new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and build greater value across the organisation.

You will need:
Leadership skills – the ability to lead and mentor a team of 3 procurement managers.
Experience in developing talent to grow our capability with creative and ambitious opportunities.
Procurement management, contract management and negotiation skills, experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events.
Strong commercial competence.
Ability to influence and challenge the norm. Able to bring new concepts and ideas to life, and bring senior colleagues on board.
Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation across the category.
Experience in a retail procurement role is encouraged but not crucial. A flexible and hard-working approach to learning the category specifics is helpful.
