We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Merchandiser to join this Womenswear brand. You will support the merchandising function, analyzing sales data, forecasting trends, and assisting with the planning and trading of your product range. The ideal candidate will possess a strong numerical aptitude, commercial awareness, and an understanding of the UK retail landscape. Key Responsibilities:
Sales Analysis: Monitor sales performance and stock levels across Womenswear categories, identifying key trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports and insights to the Merchandising Manager.
Range Planning: Assist in the planning of product ranges, ensuring they are in line with sales forecasts and seasonal trends. Work closely with the buying team to develop and refine product assortments.
Stock Management: Help manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability and minimizing markdowns. Coordinate stock transfers and consolidations as needed to maintain balanced stock across channels.
Trading: Support the trading process by regularly reviewing sales data and reacting to trading patterns. Recommend markdowns, promotions, or re-orders to maximize sales opportunities.
Forecasting: Contribute to forecasting processes for sales, stock, and margin, ensuring accurate planning to meet budget and stock targets. Update forecasts based on trading activity and market trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with buying, supply chain, and marketing teams to align merchandising strategies and promotional plans.
Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly trading reports, presenting findings and recommendations to the Merchandising Manager.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in a merchandising or retail role, preferably within the fashion industry.
Strong numerical skills with a good understanding of retail math.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive commercial decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with merchandising systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Passion for fashion and a keen interest in Womenswear trends.
Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising, business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
