What you'll do

As the Head of Property Investments and Estates at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's property investment structures and providing expertise on the property investment market. Your main responsibilities include developing strategies for the ownership profile within Sainsbury's, identifying investment opportunities, and implementing projects to enhance the value of the property portfolio. You will exercise proactive ownership of leasehold and freehold assets, ensuring best practises are implemented across all property-related responsibilities. Additionally, you will be accountable for minimising property costs, such as rent, rates, and service charges, and implementing proactive estate management strategies, including re-gears and downsizes. Managing the Third-Party Estates Management contractor will be a part of your role to ensure effective delivery of services critical to the business. You will also be responsible for reviewing assets, highlighting opportunities to raise capital, providing advice on investment market conditions, and contributing to the development of investment strategies. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, will be essential to facilitate growth projects and key initiatives for the business. Ultimately, your role will involve owning and delivering property-related resolutions and making informed decisions to drive value and support the overall property strategy.

Who you are

As the Head of Property Investments and Estates, you are a highly experienced and ideally RICS qualified professional with a strong background in property leadership, investment, asset management, and estates management. With your strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse financial appraisals, you have a deep understanding of the property investment market and the factors that impact value and liquidity. You possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, allowing you to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders in third-party organisations. Your strategic mindset and ability to adapt at pace enable you to set and implement strategic plans while effectively managing conflicting priorities. With your extensive experience in stakeholder management and leading cross-functional teams, you excel in building relationships, resolving complex problems, and driving high-performance outcomes. Your expertise in managing multiple outsourced service providers ensures effective performance management and accountability.
