Here at Harrods we are currently recruiting for a Director of Security & Safety to lead the team.

About the Role

As the Director of Security & Safety, you will be leading the Harrods Security Directorate through the delivery of a strategic vision; driving the team to maximise the security and safety of the company and its colleagues.

This senior leadership role will report to the Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for all matters pertaining to Security, safety and Financial Crime. It will include undertaking the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). It will also provide advice to business groups and senior stakeholders on all Security and Safety related matters affecting Harrods Ltd.

About You

To be successful in this role, you have extensive experience as a security and safety professional, ideally certified with experience in financial crime compliance. You will have exemplary communication skills and experience in designing and implementing robust frameworks.

You will have the ability to build strong relationships with our business clients and senior stakeholders and give considered and practical advice on complex matters. You will be a self-starter who has sufficient expertise and experience in this area to operate autonomously and manage a team.

You will also have:

Experience working with unions and a leading a large physical security team.
Experience with anti money laundering and financial crime prevention.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external clients at all levels.
Strong and proven knowledge of security strategy and implementing physical security practices and technical security measures to include CCTV, access control and management / monitoring systems.
The ability to remain calm under pressure.
Senior leadership skills operating in a diverse and highly collaborative, fast-moving environment
Problem-solving and critical thinking with attention to detail.
