The salary range for this role is set at £76,000 - £114,000. This position is a 12 month fixed term contract/secondment. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Finance Lead to join our Waitrose Commercial Finance team for a 12 month fixed term contract/secondment. The team drives business performance by playing an active role in advising, influencing and maximising value from the investments we make, and finding opportunities to drive trade in the Waitrose brand and to manage and reduce our operating cost base. In this role, you will be accountable for leading and influencing financial performance within your area of responsibility, against the financial targets defined in our Partnership business plan and budget. You will drive commercial decision making through the use of performance insight, targeted commercial analysis, and financial expertise. Working closely with senior business leaders and Executives, you’ll work to provide commercial insight and identify opportunities, solutions and actions to improve trading bottom line and deliver the financial targets. You will actively challenge, set direction, influence decisions and hold those business leaders to account. You will focus on prioritising value add activity, providing a challenging and critical mindset to the business to drive forward business performance and improved decision making. Day to day you will: Focus on how we trade, operate and allocate resources through sharing targeted financial analysis and insight, utilising your commercial knowledge and financial expertise. Ensure your area of responsibility is prioritising resources/investment in pursuit of the Partnership Plan and challenge leaders to stop activity that is contrary or non priority in pursuit of the plan. Lead Partners within multi-disciplinary and matrix teams to achieve and deliver work, in line with business outcomes and with the voice of the customer at the heart of decision making. Work in partnership with the FP&A team and business stakeholders to create and track delivery against our financial plans for the year. Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. The ability to think critically, identifying the root cause of financial performance and communicating this understanding clearly and succinctly to stakeholders. The ability to surface commercial insights and understanding, instigating action with business stakeholders to enhance profitability. The ability to inspire and motivate your team to achieve high performance levels.
