Buying Manager - Casual bottoms and Tailoring (12 month Parental Leave Cover - Part time - 3 days)

We are delighted to share that we are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Buying Manager to join our dynamic Clothing team here at Tesco covering ladies tailoring.
This role would suit someone who is already an experienced Buyer looking for a new challenge who can job share with another buying manager to deliver top line strategy and KPI’s.
Please note, this is a part time 12 month Parental Leave cover working 3 days a week.
You will be responsible for:
Creating a topline strategy for your department working with your Merchandise Planning Manager and your team to deliver this each season.
Working with the design team to research and develop product ranges that will hit seasonal trends and set the standard.
Building ranges for your category with merchandising colleagues, making sure you cater for all formats, countries and events.
Reviewing existing supplier performance and leading the sourcing strategy for the department in agreement with your Head of Buying.
Negotiating costs and setting the selling price to deliver product margin for the dept - working with suppliers and technical team to ensure fit and quality standards are met.
Overseeing critical path with your team and suppliers, ensuring key dates are met to ensure on time launch.
Trading your department with your Merchandise Planning Manager and suppliers to handle risk and opps. Ensuring we have knowledge of the market and competition, visiting stores to establish any shifts or trends that may affect sales and require action.
Conducting seasonal buying trips to establish relationships with suppliers, understand manufacturing capability and opportunities, develop new products and negotiate prices and capacity plans.

Developing and leading a strong team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
You will manage additional responsibilities that contribute to the running of the division and support your peer group.
You will need:
Clothing buying experience.
Strategic planning skills.
Product development experience.
Range and trade planning experience.
Leading and developing teams and working in strong partnership with job share.
Sourcing and managing a remote supply base inc. FE/NE travel.
Building strong business partnerships.
Negotiation skills.
Range and trade planning experience.
Data analysis and numeracy skills.
Coaching and managing people.
