Waitrose & Partners has opened its first store in the UAE under license with Fine Fare Food Market.
The store will employ 60 people, and be located in a new extension of The Galleria Mall on Al Marayah Island in Abu Dhabi.
The retailer also has plans to open its first store on The Palm in Dubai, as part of the Nakheel Mall. It is due to open by the end of the year, and will be the biggest store on the man-made island, employing 80 people.
Both of the new stores will offer customers a wide selection of Waitrose products including fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat, frozen food and non-food lines, as well as a range of bakery and delicatessen lines.
The new openings will take the number of Waitrose stores in the Middle East to ten.
