Uniqlo is to open its third flagship store in China in Beijing next month.
The company said the shop in the Sanlitun district will aim to offer customers inventive and unique shopping experiences and sell the full range of Uniqlo LifeWear.
In addition, the shop will offer the brand’s first UT collection created in partnership with Chinese artist Lao Shu, who specialises in depicting contemporary life with ink painting and has created three dedicated artworks for the collection.
As an extension of Uniqlo’s Miao Embroidery Project, which aims to help preserve the traditional embroidery techniques of the Miao people, a huge Miao embroidery entitled Life and Growth in Nature will be displayed in the store. Spanning one square metre, the work was created by students from Tsinghua University in Beijing and Miao embroiderers.
