The Burberry Foundation has announced that it is continuing its support of UNICEF’s Covid-19 Vaccines Appeal, which aims to make the distribution of the vaccines more equitable in countries around the world.
The luxury brand’s latest contribution builds on previous funding provided by the foundation and Burberry over the past year.
The donations will be used to help provide access to over two billion doses of vaccines in low and middle-income countries by the end of 2021. They will also support work to provide 5.6 million Covid-19 test kits and 5.5 million Covid-19 treatments.
Since April 2020, The Burberry Foundation has contributed to relief efforts around the world through the its Covid-19 Community Fund. Projects supported by the initiative include distributing PPE to hospitals in Europe and Africa, providing essential healthcare and mental health support services for communities across Asia and the Americas, and offering funding for food charities to provide nutrition to local communities.
