Sports Direct has made a bid for Links of London, according to Sky News.
According to reports, Sports Direct is one of two final bidders for the struggling jewellery chain.
Links of London is set to hold an annual meeting within the coming days, which will see a big protest vote from institutional investors against Mike Ashley leading the company.
According to sources, Ashley has shown interest in Links as part of his attempt to transform House of Fraser.
The bid from Sports Direct comes as no surprise, after leading takeovers of House of Fraser, Evans Cycles, Game Digital, Sofa.com and Jack Wills in the last 15 months.
