Selfridges has posted yet another year of record sales.  This has been acheived by the implementation of indoor accessories, such as a skate bowl.

In the 12 months until February, the department store posted £1.85 billion sales, which is a six percent increase on the previous year.

The Oxford Street store has recently invested in revamping parts of the store, installing a 60,000 square foot accessories hall at the Duke Street entrance, and also a skate bowl in the mens’ designer room, with professional skaters on hand to give lessons.

The revamp helped to push an operating profit of £170 million for the year, which is a slight decline on the previous year.

Managing director Simon Forster said the results showed Selfridges was “the ultimate department store”.

“We are a global brand investing in our stores and digital to share our customer experience and innovation.”
