Nike is set to leave Amazon as part of John Donahoe’s plans for when he takes over from Mark Parker in early 2020.

Nike entered Amazon in 2017 with a selection of products but has now decided to pull back.

In a statement, the company said: "As part of Nike's goal to improve the consumer experience through more direct and personal relationships, we have made the decision to end our current pilot project with Amazon Retail,"

"We will continue to invest in strong and distinctive partnerships for Nike with other retailers and platforms to seamlessly serve our customers globally."

The brand wants to instead focus on its own network.  The new strategy will see Nike work with 40 major accounts worldwide, which will help develop its direct sales.
