Following the sad news that BHS has finally collapsed under debts of £1.3 billion , the impact will be felt the hardest by its 11,000 staff.
However, all is not lost. As the saying goes; when a door closes, a window opens.
Even in the current climate of uncertainty, BHS staff will be quickly snapped up because they are well trained and highly-skilled retailers.
Yes, the loss of BHS is sad as it has been on the high street throughout all of our lives. But things move on and the staff will take their skills and use them elsewhere. It’s a great shame that it wasn’t rescued because there was scope for it to continue trading. I guess no one wanted to take the risk.
