The new edition of The Retail Appointment is now online!

September is always a busy time in the world of retail careers. People are using the time in between their summer holidays and the Christmas rush to take a look at what new opportunities might be out there. That’s why at the Retail Appointment we like to ramp up our efforts to unite retail professionals with their perfect job.

As well as our all new 32-page issue of the Retail Appointment magazine, we’re hosting our immensely popular retail careers convention Retail Appointment Live next week. Packed full of tips, hints and advice, not to mention the chance to bag a great new job face-to-face with employers, it’s sure to be another successful event. Register here for free entry and pop in on the day to find out how to get your career back into the fast lane. Once you’ve registered, take a look at our guide on how to get the most out of the event.

You might have heard about the recent good news at The Co-operative Group as investment in its brand starts to pay off and pre-tax profits rocket to £63 million in the 26 weeks to July 4th. In order to capitalize on this growth, the group is right now recruiting for the best in retail management all across its 3,000+ stores. Come and see them at Retail Appointment Live so come down to the Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel and find out how you can be a part of the success.

Speaking of companies doing amazingly well, UK high street favourite BHS is on page 10 of the magazine, discussing the great new opportunities that have been created following its split from Arcadia. It’s a really exciting time for BHS and it’s a great chance to make your mark on a company that’s carving a whole new path for itself.

Take a look at their vacancies here and join the adventure!

We enjoy working with the number one retail recruitment company in the UK, Retail Human Resources. In this issue, we talked to senior account manager Preeti Patel about what it’s like to go from working in retail to working in recruitment. The similarities might surprise you, so if you’re considering a change of career, you might want to look at careers with RHR.

Meanwhile, in our Workplace Progression section this issue, we talk to professional life coach Linda Bridge about achieving a work/life balance. Something we all need to think about in the run-up to retail’s busiest season!

In the advertising section this issue, we have Benefit who are looking for managers interested in a beautiful new career.  They’re also going to be at Retail Appointment Live so come down to find out what great careers they have on offer!

If you’re more keen on working in fashion, you have a huge choice of careers, with Primark, Fat Face and River Island.

Accessories retailers Links of London, Folli Follie and Aspinal of London are also looking for staff, along with bag company Kipling

Alternatively, if homeware is more your thing, Jack Wills is looking for a an experienced technologist, to support the design and production teams.

Meanwhile, Aldi is looking for an assistant store manager and M&S are looking for section managers.

All in all, it’s a great time to change careers, so either have a read of our latest issue here or sign up to attend our live event here and get your career moving this September!
